Ryan Webb’s journey into fitness began long before he became a gym owner, but it was profoundly reshaped after his military service. As a Marine, Ryan served in Iraq, and like many veterans, he faced the difficult transition back to civilian life. The trauma from his experiences left him battling severe PTSD, and traditional therapies and medications fell short of providing the relief he desperately needed. Ryan found himself searching for answers, determined to take control of his mental and physical health.
His breakthrough came when he discovered a unique exercise methodology created by Julien Pineau, the founder of StrongFit. StrongFit wasn’t just about lifting weights—it emphasized the mind-body connection, allowing Ryan to regain his strength and resilience, both physically and mentally.
With a renewed sense of purpose and a desire to help others, Ryan founded The Grove Fitness, a gym built on inclusivity and strength. The Grove became a space where people, especially those who didn’t feel comfortable in traditional gym settings, could find a welcoming environment to grow stronger—both physically and emotionally. Ryan wanted everyone who walked through the doors to know they belonged.
However, Ryan’s mission took on new meaning when a young boy with autism joined The Grove Fitness. Through specialized StrongFit training, the boy’s strength improved, but so did his ability to communicate and regulate his emotions. His family, amazed by the changes, noted that the fitness program was impacting more than just his body—it was enhancing his entire life. Another family even shared that their child, who usually spoke in only one or two-word phrases, suddenly opened up in full sentences, expressing his thoughts and feelings on the ride home from the gym.
These moments deeply impacted Ryan, sparking his passion to do more for the neurodivergent community. Recognizing the profound effect fitness could have on individuals with autism, Down syndrome, and other conditions, Ryan expanded his mission. This led to the creation of Agrove Academy, a specialized fitness program dedicated to making strength training accessible and empowering for neurodivergent individuals.
At Agrove Academy, the focus isn’t just on physical fitness. Ryan and his team are committed to helping individuals develop confidence, improve communication, and thrive in all areas of life. By creating a supportive, sensory-conscious environment, they’ve built a space where everyone can succeed, regardless of ability.
Today, Ryan Webb continues to lead The Grove Fitness and Agrove Academy with a simple yet powerful mission: to make fitness accessible, inclusive, and transformative. For Ryan, it’s not just about lifting weights—it’s about lifting lives. And with each person who walks through the doors, Ryan and his team are committed to helping them discover their strength, both inside and out as they engage, empower, and elevate lives.
